Chosen

Summary

Forensic psychologist Kate Cohen has until sunset to unravel thousands of years of religious mysticism to rescue her daughter before she falls victim to a sociopath who believes he is God’s chosen one.

Kate thought she knew what to expect when testifying in a murder trial, as she had done many times before. What she did not count on was the defendant’s brother, Peter’s ultimatum—convince a jury that his brother is not guilty, or Jessica, who is being held in an oxygen chamber with a limited supply of air, will die.

After a near-death experience, Peter believes he was chosen to be a messenger of God, but a group of fallen angels, known as the Nephilim, have been killing off the people he shares his secret with. It is Peter’s belief that his brother, who is facing the death penalty, is their next victim. If Kate testifies in his favor, she will break the cycle of killings. Kate must use her training and instincts to decipher Peter’s delusions and find her daughter before the sun sets and Jessica runs out of oxygen.
